Dr. William Courtright, M.D. Dr. Bill Courtright is a co-founder and partner of The Pion Group LLC, a strategic consulting group focused on revolutionizing the current healthcare system with information technology as well as a principal of Medical Telecommunications Associates. Bill was formerly president of Health Technology Consultants, a consulting group that specialized in medical technology assessment and the integration of healthcare with the Internet. He obtained significant experience with the Internet industry providing management consulting to key executives at EarthLink Network Inc. Previously, Bill served on the senior management team that designed and implemented Southern California Edison's (SCE) nationally recognized comprehensive managed care program. Following graduation from MIT, Bill attended Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, were he became active in medical informatics doing projects in the Department of Biometry. He has also served as an assistant clinical professor of Medicine at USC. Bill has been an MIT visiting lecturer at the Whitaker College of Health Sciences and Technology, as well as the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is currently a member of the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA). He has been a featured expert on the local National Public Radio affiliate for segments on "Healthcare on the Web." He was a participant in the first summit conference, Developing a National Action Agenda for the National Health Information Infrastructure (NHII) in 2003. Bill continues to practice internal medicine on a part-time basis. He uses information technology and the Internet to empower his patients. Currently he provides oversight of patient care as a medical director for the Wound Technology Network of California.
