Mike Sherrard Mike graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a BA in History. A former Walk-On left UCLA holding records for, receptions in a season, career receptions and career yardage leader. College accolades include, first team All-Pac 10, third team All-American, and first team Academic All-Pac 10. Mike was drafted in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys in 1986. Mike was the first wide receiver selected in that draft. Sherrard led the Cowboys in touchdown receptions as a rookie. After suffering two broken legs, Mike joined the San Francisco 49ers in 1989 and was part of the Super Bowl championship that the 49ers enjoyed that season. Sherrard’s career lasted eleven seasons. He also spent time with the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos. Mike enjoyed catching touchdown passes from Joe Montana, Steve Young and John Elway. Since retiring after the 1996 season, Sherrard has gone in the broadcast booth and now currently works for KABC in Los Angeles. Mike also coaches high school football in Westlake Village for Oaks Christian School. In Sherrard’s first year as coach, Oaks Christian won the CIF North Division in 2010.
