What Worries Advisors

Wavering between fear and excitement, advisors have much to be concerned about today. Some key concerns expressed by our panel of experienced advisors center around regulatory changes, increased litigation and the ability to withstand DOL, SEC, FINRA and IRS practice audits. Other concerns include contractual liability, competing with larger firms, keeping the competition away and the ability to communicate one’s value proposition with lightning speed. Fee contraction, resource limitations, increased benchmarking, sustainable growth and providing high touch services in a world that doesn’t separate cost from value are also keeping advisors awake at night. Fueled by a poor economy, reduced benefits, corporate survival, a lack of retirement readiness and unhappy participants, a budding blame game may be developing. While some wonder how they even sleep, others find comfort in procedure and the ability to rely on trusted staff. Join us and find out how these successful advisors plan to address today’s unprecedented challenges.
