Promotionally Minded, Inc. with Hank Yuloff

For 10 years, Hank Yuloff worked for a company which he described as having no human soul. It bothered him so much that when he opened his promotional product company, Promotionally Minded, he set out to make sure that his company was a good corporate citizen. Fourteen years later, Yuloff is proud that over 12% of his corporate sales and time go towards helping non-profits in his area carry out their mission. His client roster of non-profits is pushing 70 in number, some of which have never received an invoice for his products. For many years, Yuloff has volunteered as the marketing advisor to the International Child Abuse Network (www.yesICAN.org), helping them eliminate child-abuse. In the 2007 and 2008, he taught marketing seminars for new business owners (pro-bono) through the Valley Economic Development Center. In late 2009, Hank was introduced to a marketing company called SendOutCards whose two-fold mission is to help millions of people act on their promptings and provide a vehicle for financial freedom. He quickly rose to be a Senior Manager within the company and strongly believes that this tool is one of his keys to success in all of his business dealings. Yuloff is also in his second year serving on the board of directors for St. Cyril of Jerusalem school in Encino. In addition to that board, Yuloff has served on the board of directors of the Encino Chamber since 1993. He has chaired every committee, including the Chamber’s largest fund raiser, the Taste of Encino, 16 times. After 100’s of hours of pre-planning for the Taste, on the day of the event, Hank arrives as early as 4:30 in the morning to prepare for the event and is usually "the last man standing" at 9 that night. In between, he sets up barricades, handles last minute requests from exhibitors, drives the ice cart, juggles volunteer schedules and handles all of the event day glitches so the Chamber’s guests have a premium experience and the event is a success. Also for the Chamber, Yuloff has volunteered countless hours, using his graphics and writing talents to design "the look" of the Chamber, creating flyers, e-mail blasts, invitations, press releases and advertisments. He has also produced the organization’s newsletter since the beginning of 2008. As a Chamber representative, Yuloff has testified on behalf of several members before City commissions. He emceed the 2007 Chamber installation dinner and has led the monthly breakfasts (8) and lunch (4) for over 12 years, using his sense of humor to create an atmosphere of warmth and inclusion, fostering a community of not just business, but togetherness for the organization. Yuloff has also actively served his neighborhood, serving on the Encino Neighborhood Council for 6 years and was cited by those on the council as the one person most instrumental in getting the organization chartered by the City of Los Angeles. He was chosen to be a member of the Jewish Federation’s New Leaders Project in 1999-2000 and y served on the NLP Alumni Organization steering committee. He has also been trained as a City of Los Angeles CERT volunteer. Within the promotional product industry, he is an acknowledged leader, serving on the board of the Specialty Advertising Association of California (SAAC) from 2001to 2007 and as its president in 2005. He also served as SAAC's representative to the national organization, working with suppliers and direct competitors to make their industry better for all involved. Hank is married, is a godfather, and makes sure four cats are well fed and exercised.
