Sara Shai

Sara Shai is an international award winning artist based in Los Angeles.  She is a teacher, freelance journalist, and fashion designer.  However, her deep-rooted passion is painting in oil and acrylic as well as sculpting in marble and alabaster.  "Beautiful in Black: Conversations with Suicide," is her empowering personal experience and her triumph over the stigma and grief of her husband's suicide.  Sara's work is poetic and lyrical.  Her engagement with the material is innocent and authentic.  She takes hold of her pen with the same passion that she takes hold of a brush or chisel.  We invite you to visit www.sarashai.com to learn more about the authors artwork, and www.beautifulinblack.com for book events, public appearances, CDs and tapes.  The Honoring Life Event was created by Artist Sara Shai.
