Beverly DeVoy
Executive Director
Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce

DeVoy\'s professional background includes 25+ years of sales and marketing in the insurance industry.  As a Senior Account Group Rep, she marketed and sold health insurance products to businesses from sole proprietors to large conglomerates including the non-profit sector.  Due to changes in the industry, she then opened the DeVoy Agency for 10 years selling individual, disability and supplemental insurance to LA County employees, LAUSD and Pasadena employees.

On a serendipitous meeting, DeVoy ran into an old school classmate who wanted to build a Marketing an Sales department at his Chamber.  In May 2003, She became the Marketing Manager for the Pico Rivera Chamber.  To become more effective, DeVoy returned to school for professional development for Chambers.  She became more actively involved with the California Chamber of Commerce, W.A.C.E. and SCACCE here in Southern California.  I entered Chamber Academy, a three year, high-quality training program for Chamber management geared for today\'s executives and professional staff.

Recently DeVoy was approached by the Sierra Madre Chamber which has a rich history of 61 years.  They were looking for an Executive Director that could reorganize their Chamber resulting in meeting the needs of their members and the whole community maintaining the idyllic philosophy and bringing it into the 21st century technically.  DeVoy accepted the opportunity.

It is a pleasure and a privilege to be working in this All American City finalist of 12,000 residents in 3 square miles nestled up against the San Gabriel Mountains.  The 100 year history shows that volunteerism is still a vital component in successes of the community.  This full service City has the only volunteer fire department in California and has one of the oldest libraries in the Los Angeles County.  Without a signal light anywhere, the pace is more relaxed and refreshing.  She welcomes all to enjoy their oasis in a metropolitan area.
