Mr. Terzian graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Senator-at-Large and Student Body President from the University of Southern California in 1957. He was called one of the ten ‘Most Outstanding’ student leaders in America and one of our nation’s ‘Most Inspirational and Powerful’ public speakers, and was selected the ‘Most Outstanding’ member of Theta Chi Fraternity’s 125 national chapters with the comment: “It is doubtful any undergraduate on any campus has ever surpassed Carl’s record of achievements.” His graduate work in international relations and political science was equally impressive.
Prior to establishing his own firm in 1969, Mr. Terzian served as an international goodwill ambassador for President Eisenhower and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles; director of public and church relations for the Lutheran Hospital Society of Southern California; civic affairs consultant to Coast Savings and Loan Association; dean and professor of government and speech at Woodbury University; and public affairs director for architect Charles Luckman.
A prominent author and lecturer, Mr. Terzian travels extensively each year throughout the United States and overseas to address nearly 200 conferences, conventions, seminars, and sales and management meetings on marketing and motivation. He has been speaking professionally for sixty years.
Over the years, he has been president of the California Pediatrics Center and the Southern California Youth Leadership Foundation; Chair of the Los Angeles Business Council and Vice President, Project Concern; regent of California Lutheran University; trustee of Woodbury University; an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association; and a director of the Americanism Educational League, Armenian Film Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, California Museum of Science and Industry Advisory Board, Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Goodwill Industries, March of Dimes, Salvation Army and Volunteer Center of Los Angeles.
Mr. Terzian also served as a Congressional appointee to the Golden Anniversary White House Conference on Children and Youth, and on the public relations committee of the United States Information Agency; Governor Reagan’s Creative Citizenship Awards Committee; Los Angeles County Citizens Economy and Efficiency Commission; President of the Los Angeles Fire Commission; and the Mayor’s Advisory Council.
